Triangle Skies

Last night I went to support my friends band who played a gig at the Annandale Hotel.
Great venue, great music and great company ensured it was a great night!!

It was so much fun catching up with my beautiful friend Jess who's a very talented artist, art teacher and art enthusiast. (I wish I could say she has her own blog but she doesn't... yet lol). I also caught up with an old friend Mattos who's recently come back from a stint in Japan. He's a graphic designer and crazy-good at drawing. Check out his blog natemattos.blogspot.com.au
It was so nice chating about all things creative - art, style, fashion, music etc with people who inspire me.

Triangle Skies is the name of the band and they were amazing! The band consists of my friend Dean on the drums, his mega-talented sister Holly doing vocals, Brendan on guitar and Andrew on bass. I'm sure many more gigs will follow because they killed it!!
You can check out more info about the band as well as any upcoming gigs at www.facebook.com/triangleskies

Annandale Hotel has a rich history of being one of Sydney's best known venues for live music, especially of the rock n roll genre. I love the cool vibe of the place and the almost run-down appeal with graffiti walls, quirky artwork and original structure. Many of Australia's most successful acts played on the stage early in their career. A lot of International bands have also played there so it was awesome to see my friends up there rocking out.

Annandale Hotel has had some recent struggles with debt and has launched a campaign to 'Save The Dale'. To help out visit www.annandalehotel.com/anh/buyabrick.html to purchase your own brick and help keep live music alive.

Happy Snaps

Love seeing the behind-the-scenes happy snaps of some of my favourites at the Met Ball and After Party.
Enjoy!

Met Ball

What an exciting week for fashion it's been with Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia over and the world's most glamourous fashion event
The Costume Institute Gala
(or the Met Ball as it's affectionately known) over for another year also!

I couldn't wait to see what all the fabulous people were wearing and thank god for social media because everything was broadcast hot off the red carpet almost instantly.

In celebration of the event, I thought I would award some of my own winners:
Best dressed - has to be Camilla Belle who looked like an absolute goddess in Ralph Lauren!
Most outrageous - Karolina Kurkova in Rachel Zoe, complete with a matching turban
Cutest couple - newly engaged Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel
Bringing sexy back - Candice Swanepoel in a Rag & Bone evening gown
Best comeback - new mum Beyonce was glowing in a Givenchy Haute Couture gown

Love them or hate them, these red carpet looks grabbed my attention.

Dreamer

Last night a friend of mine gave me some really good advice..

'don't give up on your goals and dreams'

Pretty simple advice really but it struck a chord with me because I have to admit that I don't often hear supportive comments like that. These days there is so much negativity and self doubt. People are too quick to tell others what they can't or shouldn't do, rather then be positive and encourage others to strive for their goals and make their dreams a reality.

I was always a dreamer as a kid. My head was constantly up in the clouds thinking up the most unbelievable ideas of future plans and wishing for fairytale things to come true. As children we are encouraged to explore our imagination and think big. But as adults we are told to snap back to reality and do the ordinary rather then seek the extraordinary. Let's face it..

If we don't dream big, how can we achieve big things??

I thought I would share some of the things that I wish to achieve in the next couple of years.
Nothing to crazy, just things I think about a lot and aim to accomplish.

- find a job I love and work hard to be successful
- learn French
- buy my own apartment
- learn to DJ properly
- travel to amazing places
- learn to surf
- volunteer with charity organisations
- buy a puppy!
